SARGSYAN FAMILY UPDATES

FIVE OF SIX SARGSYAN FAMILY MEMBERS SAFE WITH T-VISAS
November 6, 2006

The US Immigration and Naturalization Service has notified us that they have approved Gevorg’s and Hayk’s T-Visa applications. Their final paperwork is now in process and they should have their visas shortly. With this latest victory, five of the six Sargsyan family members are safe with non-immigrant status.

Ruben and Meri now have their final T-Visa paperwork following their approval for T-Visas several months ago.

Susan is automatically eligible for T-Visa approval as a derivative of Ruben's, but we have been stonewalled by INS officials for reasons totally unknown. Therefore, we have submitted a separate T-Visa application for her based on our successful application experience with Gevorg and Hayk. Their approval process moved quickly so we expect the same for Susan, as she has an identical set of facts supporting the request.

Nvart will be eligible for US citizenship in November, 2007. The path to citizenship for the other family members could take up to three years, but the process is finally underway.

NVART'S GREEN CARD ARRIVES, FAMILY AWAITS REMAINING T-VISAS
August 7 , 2006

On July 5, 2006, Nvart appeared in Immigration Court and was cleared and approved for her Green Card status. She had to return to Court on July 19 to receive her paperwork. Her judge, Judge Livingston, from the beginning, has been very good about realizing who the victim was and who the criminal/abuser was in her situation. He was apparently very clear in these hearings as to making sure that Nvart was finally done.

Nvart received her Green Card on July 30. She is now on the path for full citizenship by November, 2007. Her son, Joseph, is a citizen of the US by virtue of his birth here. We are all very surprised at the quick action on this in light of how things have dragged for Meri and Ruben's paperwork and Susan's approval. She is beaming about this and so are we. What a great day!

The applications for T-Visas for Gevorg and Hayk also went in the week of July 10. We are hopeful that this process will be expedited on the basis that Ruben and Meri prevailed on the very same set of facts, which should serve as precedent.

Susan's T-Visa approval as a derivative of Ruben's should arrive any day.
